We are deeply committed to creating better days for those living with dementia through person-centered care. We understand that dementia doesn’t come with an instruction manual and every individual has unique needs, but with the right support, many continue to live at home throughout the progression of the disease. Even extending time at home by six to twelve months makes a world of difference for families.
Want to learn more about Alzheimer’s, the most common form of dementia? With nearly 9 million older adults and their families impacted by a diagnosis that has no cure, compassionate care is our most powerful tool.
At Your Side Home Care understands that dementia is continually evolving and we adapt care plans as needs shift, with the goal of helping people live at home for as long as possible.
As your knowledgeable partner, we deliver meaningful results by integrating evidence-based practices and specialized staff training. Our proprietary dementia care program, DementiaWise®, is recognized by the Alzheimer’s Association and supported by research from Duke University.
DementiaWise® is an occupation-based, team-centered training program that helps home care teams resolve dementia-related challenges collaboratively with clients and their families. We focus on matching our specialized approach to an individual’s specific stage while honoring personal preferences and leveraging remaining abilities. As a result, we improve everyday life for both our clients and their families.
DementiaWise has earned external validation that demonstrates best-in-class standards. This reflects our unwavering commitment to improving dementia care through our proprietary, research-backed training program.

This makes At Your Side Home Care a premier partner in specialized home care. DementiaWise is a comprehensive curriculum that includes over seven hours of specialized training. To ensure the highest quality of service, 95% of our offices are currently DementiaWise® certified. Agencies and their teams complete this proprietary training alongside the essentiaALZ® exam to ensure they are equipped with the most advanced caregiving techniques.
A mixed-methods study conducted by researchers in the Duke University Occupational Therapy Doctoral Program, in collaboration with Partnerships for Health, confirmed the positive impact of DementiaWise training.
The report identified two specific areas of high impact:
DementiaWise (DW) training is positively associated with increased confidence among care members. The odds of higher self-efficacy in those who completed DW training were 1.6 times higher than those who had not yet participated.
Caregivers who complete the training report a more fulfilling work experience. The odds of higher satisfaction among those who watched DW materials were 2.2 times higher than those who had not.
