Enriching Lives
Our caregivers offer not only encouragement and support but also meaningful activities like music therapy, which engage your loved ones and foster stronger bonds among family members.
Collaborating in Personal Care
For dementia family caregivers, bathing, dressing, toileting, and grooming can present challenges. Let our trained team alleviate the stress of daily living, so you can prioritize nurturing your relationship.
Monitoring Safety
Our team of experts understands the physical risks associated with memory loss and can help you create a safe and comfortable home environment for your loved one. We can assess your home for potential hazards and make recommendations for safety modifications.
Providing Nourishing Meals
Seniors with dementia face distinct nutritional challenges, such as changes in coordination, taste, smell, and chewing or swallowing abilities. Our caregivers can help overcome these mealtime barriers by creating balanced, nutritious meals that are tailored to individual needs.
Engaging the Five Senses
Sensory stimulation can help people with dementia experience joy, relieve anxiety and depression, and improve their ability to communicate.

Types of Dementia Explained

Dementia is a complex condition that can cause a variety of symptoms, including memory loss, impaired cognitive function, and changes in personality. Caring for a person with dementia can be emotionally challenging, especially when they experience changes in personality. That's why our caregivers use scientifically proven strategies to alleviate the challenges of dementia and support families affected by it. We have helped seniors living with many forms of dementia, including:
Alzheimer’s Disease
Alzheimer's disease is a progressive brain disorder that causes memory loss and other cognitive decline. It is the most common cause of dementia, a general term for loss of cognitive function.
Creutzfeldt-Jakob Disease (CJD)
CJD is a rare, rapidly progressive neurodegenerative disorder. It is caused by a prion, which is an infectious agent that is made up of misfolded proteins. These proteins build up in the brain, causing rapid destruction of brain cells.
Frontotemporal Dementia (FTD)
Frontotemporal dementia (FTD) is a category of dementias that cause progressive nerve cell damage in the frontal and temporal lobes of the brain. These areas control personality, language, and behavior, which could cause extreme behavior changes beyond a person’s control.
Lewy Body Dementia (LBD)
In people with LBD, abnormal clumps of proteins called Lewy bodies build up in the brain. These clumps interfere with the brain's normal signals, which can lead to a variety of problems with memory, thinking, behavior, movement, and sleep.
Vascular Dementia
A type of dementia caused by damage to blood vessels in the brain, vascular dementia can cause memory loss, difficulty thinking, and changes in mood and personality.
Mild Cognitive Impairment (MCI)
MCI is a condition in which a person has mild memory or thinking problems that are greater than what would be expected for their age. MCI is not dementia, but it is a risk factor for developing dementia and can affect daily activities.
